This home in west Houston just received new siding and a new roof. The customer chose the CertainTeed “Independence” product line which features laminated designer roofing shingles. Its distinctive surface is the product of a special color blending process and the Shangle® design, featuring a one-piece fullsize base shingle, random laminated tabs and deep shadow lines for an appearance no other asphalt shingle can claim. To ensure its longevity, a special formulation of embedded copper granules is warranted to protect this roof for 10 years against the streaking and discoloration that can be caused by airborne algae. This CertainTeed roof system has a lifetime limited transferable warranty against manufacturing defects on residential applications and a 15-year 110 mph wind-resistance warranty with the option to upgrade to 130 mph.
